CIDP and SLE with Myelitis
Case 1: Anti-contactin-1 antibody-positive chronic inflammatorydemyelinating polyneuropathy.
A 76 years old male had progressive distal dysesthesia and gait
disturbance for about one year and a thymoma was found in the clinical
course. NCS showed slowed conduction velocities and prolonged distal
latencies. Markedly elevated CSF protein and thickening of nerve roots
were observed. Various autoantibodies; CNTN1, AChR, DSG1, ANA and ds-DNA
were detected in this case, and he was also diagnosed with pemphigus
foliaceus and nephrotic syndrome after hospitalization. His clinical
findings significantly improved by corticosteroid and plasma exchange
therapy.
