Carcinoid tumors were named because of their relatively benign behavior as compared to the adenocarcinomas. As medicine has evolved our uderstanding and management have improved. Since 1973 their is a anual increase in incidence. The reason probably is because of increased awareness by pathologist and clinicians as well as better diagnostic equipment. We will have also a case presentation of Laparoscopic endoscopic cooperative surgery in GIST.
