Advanced Endoscopy Imaging of the Lower GI Tract AND Screening, Surveillance & Endoscopic Resection in IBD

Endoscopy imaging of the GI tract has undergone tremendous development over the last decade ever since the introduction of equipment-based IEE (digital chromoendoscopy). From NBI to i-Scan, FICE and subsequently to i-Scan OE, BLI & recently, LCI, these technologies enhance the appearance of subtle mucosal changes of early GI cancers. However, it is important to acquire this "optical" diagnostic skill before one can fully embrace the advantage rendered by these IEE technologies. The practice of surveillance, screening method and endoscopic resection in IBD are, to a certain extent, influenced by this development in endoscopy imaging and the various maturing endoscopic resection techniques.
