Topics

The current and future state of single-port thoracoscopic surgery

Single-port thoracoscopic surgery (single-port VATS) is highlighted as a cutting-edge procedure with the greatest degree of less invasiveness these days. However, the surgery is technically difficult to complete for many surgeons because of access limitations through the single port into the thoracic cavity. And in fact so far, only a handful of highly skilled surgeons have been able to perform it. Through this workshop, we try to determine what may be defined as a single-port VATS and learn about their tips and pitfalls as well as their safety management during surgery.
